The difference between servo hydraulic press and ordinary hydraulic press

Jun 09, 2024

The difference between servo hydraulic press and ordinary hydraulic press is mainly reflected in the driving mode, energy saving and environmental protection, control accuracy, functional characteristics and other aspects.

Driving mode: The servo hydraulic press is driven by a servo motor to drive a high-precision ball screw for pressure assembly, and the pressure is directly converted from the torque output of the servo motor. The ordinary hydraulic press is driven by a motor to drive the oil pump, which changes direction through the reversing valve and then the hydraulic cylinder performs the pressure operation. The pressure passes through the oil pipe and the valve body, and there is a certain loss. 12

Energy saving and environmental protection: The servo motor used in the servo hydraulic press does not rotate in the standby state, and the speed and power are changed during the press-fitting process, so it is more energy-saving than ordinary hydraulic presses. The motor of the ordinary hydraulic press is always rotating during the standby process, which consumes a certain amount of electricity, and it rotates at a constant speed during work, which consumes a lot of electricity. 12

Control accuracy: The servo hydraulic press can arbitrarily set multiple stroke speeds, precise displacement stop, precise position stop, precise pressure stop, etc. within a certain range, and has high motion control accuracy. Ordinary hydraulic presses are affected by the sealing of pipelines, valve bodies and cylinder bodies, and it is impossible to have high precision control. Many of them are achieved by mechanical limit. If the precision of electronic press control is to be close, the equipment cost will be much higher than that of electronic press and the control will be more complicated.

Functional features: servo hydraulic presses have the functions of online press quality judgment, full process curve display of press force and displacement, and full process control to automatically determine whether the product is qualified. These functions enable servo hydraulic presses to achieve online quality management and improve production efficiency and product quality. 1

In summary, servo hydraulic presses have obvious advantages over ordinary hydraulic presses in terms of drive mode, energy saving and environmental protection, control accuracy and functional characteristics by adopting advanced servo motors and electronic control systems.
